Default Anyone have front spool/welded?

I have been looking into this lately and I was wondering if anyone is running a spool or has a welded front end? The pros are obvious, but the cons seem to be bad steering and long turning radius. I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on how bad it really is.

you won't be able to turn at all. i dout they even make a spool for front axles. i would suggest a detroit truetrack for the front. it disengages when you turn. thats what i'm puttin in my front axle.

you won't be able to turn for shit. but if you weld it when your wheelin you can just lockin one of the front hubs it'll help you be able to turn, and if you start to get stuck you can just lockin the other hub. you should look in to a detroit truetrach for the front though. it disengages when you turn. i'm thinkin bout puttin one of those in my front axle

No they do make them. I am just curious. I do not think I will do it, unless I can find someone that has one and can see how it drives. I would love to get an air locker, but don't have the money. How much does that true track cost?

I'm running a lockwrong in the front of my junk and I can't turn worth a damn, so I couldn't imagine if I had it spooled or welded. I would definitely wait and save money for a selectable.

Well are you going to be driving this on the road? If yes then do not do that!! You can run that in the rear fine for even road driving. Also what are you putting this on? Do you have manual locking hubs or automatic hubs? Ifs its manual locking hub you can just disengage the front and have a spool up front and be fine on the road cause your diff wont be turning. But if you drive this on the street and have automatic hubs i would not do this at all. Im completly locked front and rear. I can drive my truck on the road fine cause i can just unllock my hubs and my front drive shaft dont spin when in 2wd. The rear end just chirps and hops around when turning. But i also dont worry bout it cause i dont drive my truck on the road. every now and then ill take it around the block just to run the motor

I have manual hubs up front. How is the steering when you have it in 4wd? Does the truck not wont to turn? Do you have stock steering? Did you weld the front or install a spool?
