got a 98 k1500 with 350 looking to put gears in got 38 inch tires what gears u recomend 4 running on road

mine had 4:56 but to each is own(i was running 40s) what gears are in there now?

whatever stock gears are truck had a 305 at first

My truck had 305 96' Chevy had 3.73 orginally, but I'd say 4:56 would be fine.

4.56's probably be alright . . my brother's f250 running 38.5's we put 5.13's in and with overdrive does great down the interstate . . 75-80 mph at like 2200-2500 rpm

i had 4.88 with 44's with no od and did good down the street but since ya got over drive ya can go with just about anything ya want

are you just planning on driving it around town? my suggestion would be 5.13s ... ps i have some parts for a chevy truck (14bolt 10.5"ring, Th700r4 trans (less than 1k miles) with transfer case polyurethane gas tank ... front bumper cab hood and front fenders along with a few other things)
