Motorcyclist Killed Tonight on 236

Was out tonight on 236 (Little River Turnpike) heading towards D.C, there's a McDonalds at the intersection where the safeway, apartments and some sort of multi-country grocery store is. Anyways from how everything looked. Looked like a Jeep pulled out (coming from that diner) and the bike slammed in the front end of the car. Dude was laying next to the drivers side door when I was going by, white sheet covering him an all). Don't know much about motorcycles so I couldn't tell you what kind it was. Definitely was a sports bike though.

Hopefully was quick for the guy, RIP.

Anyone know anything?

People need to be more aware to their surroundings, there's no reason you need to pull your car half way out into traffic to see if you can turn. Another needless accident and life taken. asshole should be strung up by his balls.

R.I.P.

Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash Tuesday
By Natalie Bedell
Wednesday, April 07 2010 11:01
A 22-year-old man was killed yesterday when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck another vehicle, police reported today.

Sergiu Mocanu of Alexandria died when his 2006 Honda CBR1000 motorcycle struck a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Little River Turnpike near Lincoln Avenue around 7:26 p.m. Tuesday Fairfax County Police reported. Mocanu was pronounced dead at the scene. The 61-year old driver of the Jeep was not injured.

Speed appears to be a factor in this crash, but the incident is still under investigation.

FCPD Spokesman Bud Walker told the News-Press that detectives plan to recreate the scene either on a computer or through a mathematical equation before authorities can determine whether Mocanu or the Jeep driver is to blame.

“In this situation, if the motorcyclist is at fault, no charges are going to brought against a deceased party. However, if it’s found that the driver of the Jeep is at fault, then detectives would then pursue charges against him,” said Walker.

He added that the report did not state whether or not Mocanu was wearing a helmet or protective gear at the time of the crash and that “if he wasn’t, that is normally something that would have been included in the report.”

As far as how long it will take FCPD detectives to determine the cause of the crash, Walker said it’s hard to tell.

“You never know. They could plug something into the mathematical equation and something couldn’t add up, so they’d have to start over again,” said Walker.

Stay tuned for updates.

Yeah, I'd definitely say it's the Jeeps fault, probably came out of the diner like I think and he hit. Just plain terrible.
