Default I am moving up there, Harpers Ferry, WV

I should be moving up there about 2 months from today, I will be living in Shannondale/Riverside area pretty much out in the woods... I am trying to get an idea if anyone else on here lives in that area and how far away, because I only know a small handful of people up there.

Anyone?

I live in Charlestown, about 5 min away. Why are you moving up here?

Cool, I was in Charlestown this weekend.

Hmmm, well, I have to live somewhere and it sure as hell will not be within the confines of the state of Virginia anymore. I have friends that just recently moved to that area, one of them built a brand new house at the end of Mission Road and the other one closes on his new house this thursday... so I will be moving in with my friend from High School that lives out there. I get out of the Military in 61 days and I have a job up there working with Metcalf doing HVAC work, but I am still working on getting hired in MD doing Govt Contract work.

Ooh.. That's cool. My next question was going to be "did you get a job there already?"

There's not much to do in Charlestown short of the race track and strip clubs. It is cheap tow live there though and it is still a reasonable drive to the NOVA area.

we have done practically every new residential and commercial development in that area in the last few years. the panhandle is definitely on its way up... and there will be an interesting "town center" (shopping, restaurants, offices, hotel, apartments) near ranson/charles town called Blackford Village. keep your eyes peeled... off charles town pike (WV9) on the former "tackley farm" parcel.
