Default Headlight Restoration

My headlights were pretty badly oxidized. I've used a restoration kit and got "ok" results but I feel like I'm still doing something wrong. I also went out and bought 600grit, 1000 grit and 2000 grit. I don't have an electric buffer so I'm doing all by hand. I think I attached the pictures correctly. Any ideas if this is 100% fixable or if I'm doing something wrong?

Why do all that work ? I remember advanced auto sells this headlight restoration paste. Sand paper only won't fix anything. Just get that and apply per instructions.

That's why I get the 3M kit because it has a drill attachment. As long as you have a drill, you are good to go. Fuck doing it by hand, even if you bate all day and look like popeye.
Before:

Afrter...this is only after 1 go at it. The kit comes with enough to do 2 rounds.

Here's with 2 rounds:

Ok, found the drill. I have the drill attachment for the buffer just didn't know where the drill was. I'll probably try again for a third time soon. Would you recommend to sand it again before repeating the Plastix and Headlight Polish? I mean technically it's already been sanded.

also, after watching the video above, looks like I'm not sanding long enough. I'm using each grit for maybe 3 minutes.

The music in this video is WAY to epic for what it really is. It is just sanding headlights.
