interesting... im still skeptical about breaking in a new car the hard way though. putting alot of stress on a new motor and all. but very interesting indeed...

From what I know, breaking an engine in hard is best for horsepower, but bad for longevity.

i guess i fucked up, i started the engine and let it run for like an hour and drove it around the parking lot cause i didnt have tags to put it on the street. then when i got tags i sortof broke it in like he says, but still he said that running it in the garage files down the hone and makes the engine slow for the rest of its life.
i ran a 12.4@114 on 13psi, im still happy with it

Yeah i asked my dad about breaking in motors. He said yeah i break em in. A quarter mile at a time that is. This is on a 9 second vette though.

Vary the rpms, but typically u dont go further then halfway up the tach between 0 and redline when breaking in a car. Read the owner's manual though, and it will tell you.
