FS: 1993 Yamaha XJ600 SECA II - fantastic beginner bike - $1100
Cman is getting a new vee-hick-ul, and so the two wheeled terror must go . I have had more fun on this thing than with any other mode of transportation I've tried, and my advice to you if you're thinking about buying your first is: DO IT. You won't regret it (assuming you have room in your life for such a toy).
These bikes are, as the title says, fantastic beginner bikes. They're very reliable, quick enough to be fun (yet slow enough you won't murder yourself due to novice mistakes), and they're extremely affordable. This is a bike you can lay down and not have it be the end of the world.
They have a fairly outdated 600cc that provides enough go for most first time riders. It's next to impossible, I understand, to get these f*ckers to break. They get decent gas mileage, as far as bikes go. Only thing is they're a little rough on warm-up in cold weather, but this has never bothered me.
On to the bike itself:
The bike is located in blacksburg, VA. She's got a little over 11,000 miles, IIRC. Brakes were needing to be done in the near future when I bought the bike at 10K miles, and I have the required parts sitting in my apartment waiting to go on. I'll probably get this done for the new owner when I get back to blacksburg late this month, but if you purchase before then I suppose I'll just toss the parts your way. The bike still brakes fine as is.
I had a small lay-down when I first got it, going under 20mph. She suffered only cosmetic damage, with the right side muffler being scraped slightly, the fairing being dented in right where the "SECA II" sticker is, a few other scratches and scrapes here and there. I can give a more detailed description of this when I get back to blacksburg from NoVA.
The bike will also need at least one mirror to pass inspection. I've been riding around mirrorless for the time I've owned the bike, and have had no trouble, but I would certainly recommend doing this. It's a cheap, quick fix.
Oil will be changed before being passed along to the new owner.
Cliffnotes:
1993 Yamaha XJ600S

$1000 for bike alone

Please note these pictures were taken before the light lay-down damage the bike took. I can get pictures of this damage when I'm back in Blacksburg.

buy plz.
Forgot to add I also have a helmet and a black leather jacket made by shift:
just like that, but all in black.
I can work out a deal to include these with the bike. Helmet has some scratches on it, but otherwise fine, jacket is in great condition.

ttt, price change:
$1000 for the bike,
$1150 including jacket and helmet.
Please buy this so I can stop worrying about having no cash around in case something on the M5 goes wrong

I can vouch that this is a GREAT beginner bike. I had this as my first bike, and man, I LOVED it. It was not the fastest thing that I would kill myself learning proper riding techniques, but it still wayy fast that I'd be at the end of the block before other cars even move off from the stop light. You can use the maximum power out of this and not kill yourself, but just have some clean fun learning to ride, and still pleanty of fun even after you can ride. I would recommend anyone learning to have one for at least a whole year before upgrading to a more powerful machine.

ttt, still for sale.
I need to borrow a digital camera down here in blacksburg to get pics of the rough spots from the fall. Should be happening this weekend.

Subscribed, hopefully you still have this after I get my tax return. How are the tires on it? How long have you been the owner?
