Default 85' Yamaha Maxim X (XJ700X): Make it a bobber/cafe! Good Running Condition

Name: Andrew
Location: Arlington, VA
Means of contact: 434-960-8668
Price: $999 **SOLD**

Description:
For sale is my 1985 Yamaha Maxim X (Model XJ700X). This is a 700CC water cooled inline 4 cylinder with ~90HP.

Specifications from the April 1985 issue of
Cycle magazine

Performance
Quarter Mile:11.79 sec @ 112.82 mph
0-60 mph: 3.20 sec

Braking, 60-0 mph: 121 ft
Average fuel consumption rate: 44.6 mpg
Fuel capacity : 2.6/gals
Curb weight (full tank): 517 lbs

I've had the bike for four years, it was purchased from a private mechanic that collected Maxim X's in particular. The bike has approximately ~31k miles on it and runs very well. Reason for sale is that I would like to purchase a newer Sportbike; this motorcycle served me faithfully as a beginner bike. Its a very quick motorcycle as you can see from the above stats, 3.2 seconds 0-60mph, and under a 12-second quarter mile. Only costs $10 to fill up, which will take you ~130 Miles on a tank.

Last July I had the motorcycle serviced at Waynes Cycle Shop in Waynesboro, VA for $550, which included a general tune-up, and a full carb-rebuild (still have receipt). The bike runs very smooth and powerful. Has a new rear tire on it with less than 1000 miles ago (see picture), as well as a new battery this May.

The few things that need repair are below:
Right Hand Mirror; rear left-hand turn signal stem; water temp gauge works intermittently; left hand mirror stem is loose; two turn signal bulbs need replacing, one of the plastic gauge cups needs to be replaced.

None of these are mechanical or substantive issues, the bike rides and drives as it should.

Test rides if you come with cash in hand and have a motorcycle license. Please text me at 434-960-8668 with questions or email works as well.
