Description: I've finally decided to part ways with my beloved 2013 Abarth. I've wanted this car since the first time I was stunned by one. Leaving the 2007 Greenwhich Concourse D'elegance an imported Assetto Corsa (the factory Fiat spec race car) pulled out and blasted up an onramp. The noise that came out of such a tiny car was absolutely mind boggling. From that point on I was hooked. But much to my dismay the 500 was still a Euro only car. Fast forward to 2012 and Chrysler's horrific fall from grace. The market hungry Italians scooped up the massive debt left in the wake to become one of the largest auto manufactures in the world; finally giving me the opportunity to live out some boyhood dreams.
I ordered the car in December of 2012 and took delivery in February of '13. At the time ordering was the only option due to the low production numbers of the 2012. Not to mention people were constantly throwing pointless crap on these cars. Seriously, who needs a Beats "subwoofer" for $875. Or a TomTom stuck on top of the dash for $400. I didn't want a TomTom when they we're cutting edge, let along 8 years past their prime. So there's none of that crap here. I also had to opt out of the sunroof option because I'm 6'3" and wanted to comfortably sit upright. There's no reclining in a race kar. Which brings me to its current state. The base 500 has a whopping 101hp and 98tq from a 1.4 liter 4 cylinder. A standard Abarth is the only option seeing as it gives you that same monstrous 1.4 liter, but with a turbocharger*. Naturally, like any sensible adult, I immediately started disassembling everything that the quirky Italian engineers thoughtfully designed. But being Italian and wine drunk, not German and hyper anal, there were plenty of things that could be done better. Below I will attach a list of all the parts currently on (or off) the car. All factory originals are still boxed up and close to brand new. They will be included with the sale of the car, but guarantee will never be taken out of the box they're sitting in.
The reason being this car currently sits around 220hp and 225tq (160/180 stock.) And no, I didn't just pick numbers that sounded fun because it has the Abarth racing stripe. These are the same numbers that people with comparable mods have consistently dynoed. This is accomplished with a host of rock solid aftermarket upgrades. But the basics are a tuner, intake, straight pipes**, and 23lbs of boost. To handle the added boost in boost there's a custom prototype set of Fortune 500 Coilovers on the car. Fortune ultimately decided not to put them into production so this is the only set in existence. It lowered the car close to 3" front and rear since wheel gap needs to go by the wayside. There's also a 320% stiffer rear sway bar to help rotate the rear upon entry. The Abarth comes only like a real car should; with 3 pedals. The entire shift assembly has been replaced since the factory one was dreadful. Flat out dreadful.
I wanted to build this car the way it should have come from the factory; like a street prepped race car. When you start off with a 12' long 5' wide car it has to be treated like a toy. And that's exactly what it is. It's an absolute blast to tear around the city in. Full boost comes on around 3,200 and pulls all the way to redline no matter which gear you're in. Due to its size the interstate is it's favorite place to be. You're sitting right in the power curve at all times and it can literally drive underneath a tractor trailer.

*For those unfamiliar with turbochargers. A turbo: Exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens, and you go faster.
**This car is built for off road purposes. Or just people with a flagrant disregard for local noise ordinances and the environment. 3" downpipe bolted to the turbo, mated up to the factory 2 1/4" piping to the dual tips. No mufflers. No resonators. It will make fire and sounds like a gunshot when it backfires.

All that dramatic writing, and you've not stated your reasoning for wanting to sell the car? Please remove that 'harness'....its a spinal compression deathtrap waiting to happen.

The reason for selling it is simply due to the need for more space. I used to have access to commercial vans for when I needed to move things and an SUV for hauling people when necessary. Since moving though I found myself in need of something a bit more practical for day to day. It's been a spectacular little car that's never once given me an issue. If I didn't need something a bit larger I would still be happily driving it right now.
As for the harness it can very easily be reversed. I will most certainly remove it for the next owner unless they request otherwise.
