I honestly dont know the mileage, it cant be more than the 199k on the body! I was told by someone that knows more about these cars than I do that the engine is a swap from a newer 300zx because the intake manifold looks like a 95 style or something of that nature. Its very possible that the info is incorrect, I wouldnt know, but the engine looks pretty clean if it is the original.

That makes sense. Do you know of any engine differences based on model years that would help me be able to tell if the engine has been replaced?

take a good look at the engine mount bolts and see if they seem ever used.
