1991 Nissan 240sx w/ CA18DET and full Coils;
THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT RUN!!!
This is a project car that I purchased locally. The previous owner purchased it locally as well. When he bought it, it was running. When he got it home, it wouldn't even turn over.
I took it from him with intentions to reassemble to motor and get her running again. As of now, the valve covers are removed, the camshafts removed, the alternator removed, and the exhaust is not attached. The cat-back is attached and hanging, but the down-pipe/race pipe are not. The vehicle has a cheap 3" full turbo-back from XS Performance.
The intercooler was stolen before I acquired the vehicle, but I have all of the piping (or at least I was told that it was all of the piping) I have all parts for the car. I do believe that some exhaust bolts are missing though.
I reattached the turbo manifold and turbo with new gaskets on the turbo manifold. The O-rings for the injectors look to be in fine working order, new even. I have a new timing belt (one currently on has a tear in it) and it has a brand new radiator. The motor looks to have very few miles on it, but I don't know for sure.
Like I said, the vehicle was reported to be running fine, and the believed issue is electrical. I'm not a Nissan guy so the wiring harness is difficult to make sense of. All sensors are present though, I just haven't had time to finish reassembly to test the harness.
The only other mod is K Sport full coilovers. The only visible body damage is on the front passenger fender, where someone in an apartment complex backed into it. Oh, the the rear driver tail light has an elbow sized hole in it (because an elbow made it).
I don't have any pics of the front end currently on me, but I will soon. Other parts needed to make it run (that I know of so far): alternator belt, front and rear camshaft oil seals, plugs, intercooler. The interior is livable. The rear end is gutted, and the dash has cracks. It was intended to be a drift-mobile.
I purchased this as a project car but due to recent budget crunches, I really can't afford to do her the way she deserves, so I'm looking primarily to trade for a running older car, preferably Honda (I know Honda's) but I'm open to all offers. Optimal would be running with minor defects that don't inhibit the vehicle being driven daily and legally.
I will sell though, looking for around a 1000.00. I see that as fair since the motor and coils alone are worth more together, and with a little attention looks to be a strong running car.

As far as parts for this motor, just go to any parts store and ask for a 1988 Nissan Pulsar XE (with the 1.8L). It's the CA18DE, all the parts match, with exception to turbo parts of course.

did you say there is a turbo or were you planning to install one?

The motor is an imported CA18DET from the 180sx. I just referenced the CA18DE so that you know what to ask for at the parts store. It has the stock turbo currently installed (I know the picture doesn't show it, but I have installed it since taking the pictures). Yes, I'm willing to tow within the local area, but that depends from case to case.

Yes I have all of the removed parts aside from the intercooler, which was stolen.
I'll have more pictures soon.
And about bringin it to you. . . 3.5 hours is a bit much, if I can work somethin out with a friend, I'll get back to you.
