1988 Toyota Supra Turbo 1JZ-GTE Sumospeed Winner $13K

* Price: $13,000 FIRM
Up for sale is my 1988 Toyota Supra. This car was a dream of mine to build and I wish I could keep it forever. Over the past several years this Supra has been a lot of fun and always reliable. It was built with comfort and driveability in mind with high quality parts. Some of you may recognize it, as it won first place in the Toyota/Lexus/Scion class at the Sumospeed car shows the past two years.
Engine/Transmission-
1JZ-GTE with 65k miles (2.5 liter twin turbo, predecessor to the 2JZ)
AIR CONDITIONING- works great!
Koyo Radiator
Flex-a-lite dual electric fans with dual relays
Large front mount intercooler and hardpiping
Driftmotion CT-26 conversion w/ rebuilt 57 trim ct-26
BIC- Divorced (but recirculated) downpipe and 3” high flow cat
Test-pipe (not installed but included)
HKS old school 3” cat back exhaust (looks and sounds OEM)
Titan Cam Gears
ARC Intake
HKS super sequential BOV
Jdm 440cc injectors (included but not installed)
Driftmotion Fuel pressure regulator kit (included but not installed)
4.10 JDM Torsen LSD
Clutch Specialties 6 puck clutch
Marlin Crawler shifter bushings
Red line Synthetic Oil
Suspension/Brakes:
Tein HA coilovers ( the softer of the tein models)
Suspension Techniques Sway Bars
Steel braided brake lines on all 4 corners
Cross drilled rotors with upgraded pads all around
JIC lower chasis brace (included but not installed)
Interior:
Rare JDM Recaro Front and back seats with matching door inserts
This is the cleanest Recaro interior you will find. Ive never seen one close to this mint! These seats were an option in the Supra "TT-R" models in 91 and 92.
OEM Style Toyota Floormats
TRD Shift Knob
Momo Steering wheel w/ TRD horn button
Pioneer CD player with ipod inputs
JDM 6” front speaker pods
Greddy Profec B boost controller
Greddy Turbo Timer
Apexi SAFC- mounted in glove box
Body/Wheels:
Repainted Dodge Viper Red in 2006- garaged kept since…. MINT.
Targa Top
1989+ front bumper conversion
JDM Turn signals and “bubble” marker lights
JDM “Dark Cherry” tails and center reflector
1989+ Trunk Spoiler
JDM Hatch spoiler- refinished and painted gloss black
JDM Mirrors
Shine Auto- Front lip, some minor scrapes underneath… its low!
BBS RS 17x8 and 17x9.
These wheels were refurbished and painted gloss black with new black center caps. Wheels and tires have around 1k miles on them.
Ive been driving the car @ 12psi and it is a blast. I had planned to install the fuel upgrades, up the boost, and get it tuned on the SAFC (which is installed and working) but have just run out of time and interest. This setup should be good for around 400 whp. I chose a turbo setup with quick spool but plenty of HP potential. It is a great street combination. The 1JZ is such a smooth, powerful engine. I wish I could have driven it with the added boost! The car has always had a slight grind in second gear and a slight leak from the rear main seal. Neither of these ever bothered me, but I realize they should be stated. The only time the grinding is a potential issue is on downshifting into second without rev matching.
Everything in the car works as it should from the factory. A lot of effort was put into making the modifications look and feel OEM. The interior is in excellent shape, carpet, door panels, dash… everything is nice. The air conditioning blows cold and the heat works great in the Winter. The exterior is beautiful as it was garage kept. The red paint looks like it could be brand new OEM Toyota Red. The past two years this car took first place at the Sumospeed show for the Toyota/Lexus/Scion class.
I have a lot of money invested at this point and I am not in a hurry to sell. I know that this car was not an investment and I do not expect to make my money back. My asking price is $13,000 firm. If the potential buyer would like, I can have the transmission rebuilt to fix the grinding issue and replace the rear main seal for an extra $1000, for a total of $14,000. It’s a fairly simple job, just not something that bothered me enough to do. If the potential buyer would like to bring their own set of wheels, I will take $1500 off the price and keep the BBS. And now the pictures!

...this is by far the cleanest MKIII supra I have ever seen. There is a ton of money, time and rare parts that went into making this beautiful car. The RECARO interior is rare as hell and in MINT condition. This car is the one if you are in the market.
bump for a great seller
