1987 rolla coupe
Ok, selling the rolla, don't have time for it and my brother wants something "normal" lol. Here's what I posted on craigslist, if you want to know anything else just ask.
Ok, got this car locally for my brother about a year ago. I have put countless hours in it, has the potential to be a radical car, my brother just hasn't got into vehicles like I have, and the work involved in keeping a 20 year old "tuner car" if you will running is not what he is interested in doing, and I don't see the need to beat myself up over a car that he is not going to appreciate. So, hopefully it will find an owner who will appreciate it.
Car is a 87 Corolla GTS coupe like the title says. Originally black, I got it in like 6 colors. The Interior has been repainted black, and I have put a lot of interior back in. When I got it it was in rough shape, now it is at a point that I consider it perfect street/ track, nice enough to not be annoying but still stripped. Outside has been spray painted a semi-flat color, just to get it to be one color, looks worlds better. Front bumper is a J-Blood copy fiberglass, it is held on by zipties right now. The New owner can either cut up the stock metal bumper that comes with the car to make mounts, or order the JDM Kouki bumper mounts which the bumper is made to fit.
Engine wise, I bought the car and it blew up within a block when I took delivery of it, due to the old head gasket being used on the previous engine rebuild. I have rebuilt the engine. It is a late model High-Comp bottom end with the early model head with TVIS, which should make this a pretty damn potent stock based setup. It has a fresh head That I spent $250 in machine work on at Ballos, valve job, decked head, etc. Also has a TRD metal head gasket, ARP head studs, fresh valve seals, etc. I just haven't gotten it to run well yet, and there are some issues with it. exhaust needs finished getting put on, the fuel pump needs rewired, the cam seals need resealed (it seeps oil out of the seals when running), and basically some TLC and finish work. I just have had my fill of working on it, and since my brother doesn't want it anyway.....
So, here's a list of the good and the bad, some pics are on here, e-mail me for more if you want
The Good -
OEM GTS coupe
**Manual Steering Setup**
Celica Supra Wheels with Brand new Falken Tires
Fresh Engine
OEM LSD rear end with fresh rebuild, according to previous owner.
New Trans out of an SR-5, according to previous owner
No Chassis rust
The Bad
need some finish work
engine not running 100% yet
Been hit in the rear, chassis still straight though, bumper bolts in to frame rails no problem, just the skin.
If you have any questions or anything, e-mail me at ben.portyrata@gmail.com , call at (804) 357-4071, or whatever, responses will be quick, I check my messages and e-mails often, and I'm more than happy to answer any questions.
Price is $2000 OBO, my brother has out about $1800 into it, I have put probably $500 at least in odds and ends, anyone who has built a car knows how that goes, plus dozens and dozens of hours of my time. Just trying to get something out it it you know
Car comes with no guarantee implied or otherwise. I can tell you what I did, but this car has had a history, and I only know so much about it. I will help out the new owner where I can, but I won't be held responsible for the vehicle after it leaves me. Just want to put that out there, lol.
