If the VIN starts DC4, it is a LS. If the VIN starts DC2, it originated as a GSR. Your motor is an LS motor. Even simpler. If the cluster is original and runs to 9k RPM's, it started as a GSR, LS clusters only go to 8k. They also did not make silver GSR's in 2000, only in 2001.

Thanks for the help, ill check it out today and update later, almost positive its an LS but I was told it was a GSR when I bought the car.
