Re: 1999 Integra GSR turbo
The engine has had a compression check and leak down test test done. All results were well within the acceptable range. Compression was 210-220 psi per cylinder. Leak down was less than 5% on each cylinder. As far as the block holding up, it is all in how you drive it. I have talked and numerous people who have 500 whp on their stock blocks and they have been driving them for years. Hard to believe but they don't run them into high rpm all the time and they last. I had a conservative tune to mine engine and I do not rev mine out very much. I let the engine warm up and idle down before and after driving it. I check the oil and have never had any problems with oil consumption. I change the oil with full synthetic every 1500 miles and ad a friction modifier. BG MOA and RF-7 have both been used at oil changes. My intent with this car was to make it last. I never took it to a drag strip or did any serious street racing.
