Question about banned members... is there an IP flag of some kind to notify mods?

If a banned member logs in under an other users account, but from their normal IP.... say at work. Does moderation get notified or flagged?

Just curious... I'm banned from corvetteforum, but trying to buy some parts under another user name. Don't want that persons SN to get snubbed.

Will just logging in from my work IP flag someone or would they have to have a reason to look into it?

haha, why did they ban you there? I figured if they didn't ban me, being a Camaro owner, that they wouldn't ban one of their own?

I got into an argument w/ a long time moderator over him locking threads just becaue they discussed a car's top speed on the basis that the thread discussed "illegal activities". I thought it was ridiculous becuase we're on a forum to discuss sports cars. So that got me on the shitlist. Then in the OT section I posted a link to bignaturals.com (porn) in one of my own threads as a joke... well they perma-banned me for it.

I had been on that site since '01 and had over 25,000 posts!

Sweet... if I get Jay's account banned I'll let you know ;) Actually I've been emailing the site director about getting unbanned now that I got a new car. We'll see if I can sweet talk myself out of my perma-ban.

There's various ways to ban someone: username, IP, email, etc. Without knowing how they banned you there's no way to give a solid answer.

As to the question of if they could link accounts via IP, the answer to that is yes. The more specific the IP (i.e. your work) the easier it is to link them up.

Login to Linksys Router
Change (Clone) MAC address on router
Pick up new IP from ISP
?????
Profit.

Yes, just do that. Then you've got a new IP and a new vette. Start over anonymously.
