problem uploading pictures

i tried uploading a few pics but an error message keeps popping up, it says "not a valid image", i've uploaded the same type of images before and it has worked fine (JPG), any ideas?

weird, it still won't let me upload any but it doesn't show me the error message any more. thanks for letting me know though
