Mods...We need a welding/fabrication forum.
I think it would be kick ass to have a forum dedicated to the people of Va who like to play with metal., I know i myself am just learning to work with metal, at least in the last year. It would be good to hear other peoples tips and tricks, thoughts and ideas...

Re: Mods...We need a welding/fabrication forum.
From the request for a photography forum:
Here's something you guys need to realize: we don't create forums out of want, but out of need.
We aren't going to create a forum in hopes that there is going to be content added to it after the fact. We create forums because a particular forum begins to have many different threads about the same subject, enough to justify creating a subforum or a new forum altogether to keep it seperate.
Here's some examples:
Cycle Corner and Offroad / 4x4 forums were created because there were enough of both related types threads in various forums, as well as interested participants, to warrant creating new forums for each.
The Backroom subforum was created because there were so many adult/NWS/(X) threads in Eye Candy that we felt it necessary to create a distinction between those types, and other threads.
Vehicles for SALE was created first as a subforum, and then later divided up into it's own subforums to because of the need to reduce the amount of clutter and disorganization that came from having a non-specific forum that contained so many threads.
And here's something from the way-back machine for you guys to consider: who here remembers the Girl Garage?. Yeah, Girl Garage. That is the perfect example of a forum created based on want and not need. The minority of girls asked for a forum of their own, and one was created because they asked, and not because there was a need for one. And what happened? Nobody ever posted in it, and it became dead weight. It got axed pretty quick, despite our being assured that it would be used.
So the moral of the story here guys, is that if you want a photography forum, for actual photoshoots and threads of a more "professional" caliber, then show us that we need one. This goes for any legit "new forum" idea... show us that it's worth the hassle (and trust me, it's a hassle) of creating a new forum.
