Click the member's screen name that you want to ignore and open their public profile. In the blue bar, directly under their "Last Activity" you'll see the option to add XXXXXXXXXX to your ignore list. Click that and they'll be ignored.
It's only downfall, is that you can still read what they wrote when someone quotes them.
