Abbreviations can be a very confusing thing for newbies, so hopefully this will help. Here we go: AFAIK - As Far As I Know AID - Account Identification AIM - AOL Instant Messenger AKA - Also Known As A-Pillar - Framework on either side of front windshield ASAP - As Soon As Possible Attention Whore - Someone who thrives on the attention of others. B-Pillar - Framework between front & back doors BPV - By-Pass Valve BOV - Blow-Off Valve BT - Brain Trust BTDT - Been There Done That BTW - By The Way Bump - When someone wants to put the thread at the top, so there is more of a chance to get viewed. This was possibly the most confussing one for me as a newbie. BWW - 1. Band Width Warning (large file or picture) 2. Big Work Warning - usually only seen in the "off topic" forum(posting graphic pornography) C - Convenience Package CAI - Cold Air Intake Cams - Camshafts Cat - Catalytic Converter CE - Check Engine CEL - Check Engine Light CPO - Certified Pre-owned CF - Carbon Fiber Chip - ECU Computer Chip Chipped - ECU Performance Chip Installed CHP - California Highway Patrol Clay Bar - also known as Overspray Clay, Clay Bar is a plasticine matrix with an abrasive intermixed throughout. Most recently Clay Bar has been used as a detailng tool for removing foreign particles & contaminants from your car's paint/clearcoat.
