REV-X is kicking back off September 11th at 10:00PM.

For those that don't know REV-X is a meeting spot on private property located at 11120 Gordon Road. REV-X has a parking lot able to hold over 550 cars and, at it's peak, drew in 363 cars one night.

REV-X experienced some problems with the local law enforcement and we have met with them a few times to resolve these issues.

Please pay attention to this part:

We have some things we need to put out and to discuss about August 14th (the night the police road blocked us), the purpose of REV-X, the changes, etc. I want to open a dialogue with the church and the attendees of REV-X. The pastor that overseas me will be there and we may have some law enforcement officers there to answer questions as well.

I might come. I get off work in Manassas @ 9:15pm, usually get home by 9:45pm and i'll switch cars to bring the Miata out. We'll see if I feel up to the half hour drive from Fauquier.

Points of the Meeting:

1)REV-X was shutdown because the Sheriff's Department was perceiving it as a menace to society. They were getting a lot of complaints of street racing near the church property. REV-X is the ONLY thing thing going on, o...n Gordon Road from 10:00PM-2:00AM so it traced back to us. So REV-X was unintentionally and indirectly abiding street racing. Despite the fact only a small percentage only a small percentage of us actually street race. The false police report on August 14th, was the final straw.

2)REV-X has restructured and is now back up and running.

3)REV-X is an outreach. A way for the community to have contact with the church.

4)REV-X is an anti-reckless/anti-street racing organization.

5)REV-X is working on a track day to give you guys an outlet to race. This may or may not be on site. We are looking at other options including renting Summer Duck, Summit Point or another track. At this point, we plan that this would be 100% free to you guys. All this is in the planning phase.

6)REV-X is now working with the Sheriff's Department.

• First ,we are hiring two uniformed deputies to stay on site to provide security and to escort people off the property, if need be. They will not give tickets for equipment infractions. Get to know them, they are pretty cool people.
• Second, we are now registering every car and every person that come to REV-X. This information goes into MY computer, this computer will stay off the internet to mitigate any chances of someone hacking into it. This information is not used to do background checks against you or your car. I don't care if you lost your license, I don't care if you car is not inspected. What this information is used for is; if you are caught driving recklessly or street racing within the hours of REV-X on roads close to REV-X, the county and/or state will contact us and you will be suspended from REV-X, in addition to you getting tickets.
• Third, people were setting up races, leaving and coming back. We are going to mitigate that problem by giving you one entry per night. We are working on a system that will allow this. In short, once you leave you are done at REV-X for the night. You can't come back. If you need to leave and want to come back, TALK TO ME FIRST!
•Forth, if you are under 18, we mark you car with a window marker. You have to leave around 11:30PM. It's the law.
• Lastly, fighting will get you banned from REV-X for the entire season.

7)REV-X is also trying to change the perceived image of the “street racer” from the auto enthusiast and start an outreach inside of an outreach. In other words, we want to do something good for our community. Everyone who can turn a wrench can get involved. First thing we want to do is give free oil changes to single mom's/disabled vets/etc. Later on maybe pickup cars, trucks or vans from craigslist/ebay (the < $1000 hoopties) repair them and give them away for free to low income families.

8)The church is vigilantly trying to work with the Sheriff to have all tickets thrown out the night of August 14th.

9)REV-X will go on for another 4-5 weeks, weather permitting. I'm not standing out there in 50 degree weather for four hours in October/November. We will kick back off again April/May of 2011.

10)We need volunteers to help with setup/tear-down/security/race-day. etc. I only have about 2-3 people who help me out every weekend.
