FS/WTT VW Volkswagen 16v 9a Engine( late Passat style) & PL 1.8L


Well I had this engine build last year for my GLi after I killed the PL one.

Well I ran this engine for appx 450 Miles when I toasted the Fel-Pro fibre

Headgasket I was using. I never could get it running right again after I

swapped headgaskets... So, I picked up a complete other 9a engine and

installed it and stored this one. I would like to retain the PL head(s) I have

but......Money talks... The 9a Shortblock is from the venerable Ballos

machine. All new Mains Rod Bearings & Intermediates. The cylinders still

have cross hatching in them and some marks from the reliefs in the

pistons but the shop found NO PROBLEMS.... I have reciepts for

EVERYTHING! Pan to Deck $300obo This engine hauls.. A**!





I also have a PL head from a Scirocco engine swapped out for a 9a from a

buddy. I know nothing about this head other than it ran hard enough to

bend the PL crank.... So.. I would have it checked out. I can recommend

someone if you don't know anyone. Comes complete with cams and hard

water necks. Looks like it got water in the intake sometime and rusted the

front valves. Other than that it has never been resurfaced and should NOT

be warped.
