Honda Civic 5 speed transmission for D16Y7
My transmission is officially toasted. Pops out of every gear, Grinds through every gear, the clutch is gone and the throw out AND pilot bearings are toasted.
I know literally nothing about Honda's, I have a 1988 EF Civic Hatchback, but it has a 1997 D16Y7 in it. Originially it had the 1997 4 speed tranny in it, but I swapped in a 5 speed out of an 88 CRX. So I guess I can use transmissions from either body style? All I know is that it needs to bolt up to my engine, and it needs to be 5 speed. I have cash, I have parts, I have all kinds of stuff. Let me know what you got, and what you're looking for. Thanks!

I got a 96 civic ex tranny. Perfect driving condition. No grinds. I don't have a clutch for it. 75 takes it. I live in NN. Let me know if u want it. Oh yeah, tranny has 110k miles on it. Took motor and tran out of car to put b series n it

....
Now I are confused... Do the different trannys for the 88-91 or whatever have different splines? When I switched from the 4 speed to the 5 speed, I had to get a new clutch cause there was 1 fewer spline in the new tranny... or maybe the other way around...

Look at ur tranny does it have a cable, or a hydrotube goin to it in the front. Look between the tranny and radiator. Let me know what u find. Ur car should have a cable but somebody possibly could have converted it.
