Honda B series VTEC valve cover. Custom paint
Name: Jamie
Location: Richmond VA
Contact: email rivercityspeed@yahoo.com
Price: $125
Custom painted valve cover with large "VTEC" letters.
I started with a super clean valve cover and sanded out most of the flaws and casting lines. Then I primed it with Dupont primer/surfacer. I wet sanded the primer to slick it down real nice. Afterwords I shot it with multiple coats of HOK (that's House of Kolors) Candy Apple Red Base Coat. It's loaded with pearls and very high solids. Then it was shot with multiple coats of Dupont clear. The letters have been polished. The pic doesn't do it justice. This color would look great on just about anything.
If you have a valve cover that is in good shape and you'd like it custom painted, I can do it for you. I can also TIG weld AN bungs to them for breather lines. Shoot me an email for prices, etc... Please understand, paint of this nature is very expensive. I will not paint your valve cover a custom color for $50. The labor is that much at least.

So, am I asking too much for this? Or is it something people are just not interested in spending money on? Everyone's happy with rattle can paint jobs?

Not a chance. It might look good for a few weeks. But, you need a catalyzed clear to hold up the the temps and remain glossy.
House of Kolors in a rattle can, LOL!
