ENGINE SWAP

Son just did engine swap from a B16 to a D16Y8. B16 was in a 93 Civic and D16Y8 is from 2000. It seems there a a few plugs and hoses that don't match up. One being the Vtec solenoid and fan switch. We can get the fan to come on by jumping the cannon plug. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
