I can give you a 1st gear for it and all that other stuff off a delsol vtec trans which has the the same ratios. Sure

Re: 98 spec jdm R 4.785 final drive
its not the same, thats why i ask. i just rebuilt one for a friend and the gear is completely different. this final drive, if its an OEM honda one is useless w/o the correct 1st gear and corresponding parts for it.

1st - 3rd on a 98 trans = delsol vtec, 96 spec r , usdm r. Of course it comes with the ring gear for the diff and the counter shaft.
http://www.ff-squad.com/tech/temp/Bgears.htm. I have two delsol vtec trans, and an s4c from an em1 sitting right beside my 98 r transmission. I don't know what trans you rebuilt but these parts are the same. The shim from your trans needs to be utilized to make up for differences I the machining of the outer case. And if you're shim is screwed, new one is lesss than 15 bux at Honda.

Lol, yes the gear ratios are the same, but the actual first gear has a different inside diameter and has a collar that slides over the countershaft that the split bearing goes on.

Ok well I'll put the micrometer on the 4.4, and 4.7 counter shaft and see which one fits my 4.9 counter shaft on Sunday.

It probably will come with the 4.7 first if that is the case as the fd I bought fits a broad range of transmissions so ill use the s4c or delsol vtec pieces.
