Ive always wondered when people say need a car to take kid to school. majority of places, actually i dont know of any places that dont have school buses.

Good luck though and good on your for trying to help someone out. You will probably have best luck on craigslist i found a buddy a 97 saturn for $600 that lasted him three years and he beat the hell out of the car.
