Default 1988 Ford Festiva L. 4spd manual, 176,XXX miles, Starts Runs and drives $500obo

Vehicle: 1988 Ford Festiva L
Condition: Starts every time, Runs, Drives great, great fuel mileage... not the greatest looking car on the road
Price: $500obo
Name: RJ
Best Contact: (703) 915 2305 is my cell, call anytime before 9:30pm
Location: Sterling, Va 20164

Here's a quick back-story behind why I am selling this vehicle:
On May 1st (this past Saturday) a buddy of mine was struck head-on by a drunk driver (2nd DUI offense in 2 years) while riding a 50cc motorcycle. He was thrown from the bike and landed in the gutter. I heard the accident from the inside house and ran to his side where I found him bleeding heavily. I wont get into details but the scene was brutal. He was airlifted to Fairfax hospital and is going to loose his left leg because of this terrible accident. Ultimately he cheated death in every sense of the term but has a very long recovery ahead of him.

I have this car that I no longer drive and want to take this opportunity to sell the car and donate all the money to his cause. He is a personal trainer at a gym and is obviously going to go through tough times with medical bills, a new prosthetic, let alone daily expenses that add up...

The car is a 1988 Ford Festiva that I bought from a buddy a little over a year ago and no longer drive.

Has around 176,XXX miles and drives great. it's not fast, it's not pretty, but it will get you from A-B very efficiently. I've averaged 40+mpg on many occassions. It leaks some oil from the valve cover, and uses a little bit of oil between oil changes, but what 22 year old car doesn't? The clutch was replaced probably 20k miles ago by my buddy and is in great shape. Tires are tough to find for this car but it has 4 decent ones on there that should last a good while.

On with pics

The wheel chock was just a precaution. The ebrake works, but the racheting mechanism that keeps it locked no longer works. Perfect for snow drifting, haha

Interior is in pretty good shape

Money shot, Blistering 56hp

Money talks people, I wanna get this sold and money to my buddy asap.

I've had an offer for $450 cash from a guy who wants to come take a look at it. However, our work schedules conflict so it might be a couple days before we can meet up and have him check out the car. I work early in the AM and get off AFTER he goes TO work. If someone else is really interested and wants to make an offer of $451 give me a call, my number is in the original post. I get home in the evenings around 4-430 and can show the car after that to those who are interested.

If I was selling this car for myself and keeping the cash, I definitely wouldn't push it nearly so much. There's 2 factors at work here really, how much cash can I get, and how soon can I get it? I'm sure you all understand given the circumstances.

You're a good man. It's nice to see good people do in fact, still exist.
