1953 Ford F100 v8 flathead 6 volt 3 speed
SOLD
Description:
I have a 1953 f100 239 v8 flathead truck with clean title. It is still a 3 speed on the column with a 6 volt system.
Good:
-Optima battery
-2/0 battery cables with soldered ends & new starter solenoid
-Replaced Drag link, tie rods, u joints, all new rear brakes, new rubber brake hoses front & back, and fronts got new wheel cylinders
-Petronix conversion, petrionix coil, petronix wires, vacumn module, and ngk plugs
-Carb rebuilt
-Master cylinder done
-Wiring harness from cab back was replaced right before I got it.
-Fuel pump was replaced before I got it (think I have a receipt)
-Left side has a stainless bearclaw latch kit from mid fifty have the kit for the right side as well just needs installed
-Sears bias ply white walls in pretty good shape on 60 ford wheels that are a 5 foot paint job but a por base
-A big majority of the underside has been por15
-Radiator re-cored
-Heater core has been redone but not installed
-CPP shocks with 50 miles on them but I think the fronts are too short. I measured the rear and just ordered a matching 4.
-Has mid-fifty lowering springs in the rear and posies in the front and shims on the axle
Bad:
-Left floorpan needs replaced and cab corners probably need it
-Needs new side glass with all of rubber redone including track rollers
-Brakes still are not right the rubber has been changed including the rear end hard line its serious bubbles or maybe the old hard lines are leaking?
-Suspension is tilted to the left, think I ordered to short of shocks for the front and its binding
-Tie rods need a drop they are on the exhuast, have a kit to do it from cpp
-Steering arm was welded it needs to be cut off an replaced, have a used replacement
-Kingpins are shot, over reamed by napa
-Steering box is shot, have a full rebuild kit from cpp
-Windshield leaks, have rubber seal and eastendglass can get the glass for $200-250 installed
-Needs an alignment
-Motor unknown mileage, and is probably pretty worn
-Needs a headlight switch, have one
-Needs exterior door handles
-Metal access panels for inside of door need work
-Floorboard fit is so so I think they are so so repops and could use work
-Bed wood is shot
-Fuel tank sender is broke
-Steering wheel has some cracks
-Clutch is maybe half life
-I think cut the lower rad hoses too short I saw a small drip but never confirmed it as I havent drove it
Have a spare bellhousing (hard to find 1 year only), repop service manual, repop owners manual, and original parts manual from the dealership in rough condition. Will get some pictures up soon from when I lowered. Truck has some good points and some rough points it can be started but I would not test drive it as the suspension/brake issues.
Right now mostly interested in cash unless its 5 speed miata with under 125k miles or 2 door integra 5 speed with under 150k. Pictures:
