what insurance do you have for your Busa? i got a quote for an '08, $2900 a year

i was in the process of buying a 08 Busa. it is financed. it took all day for my insurance company to get back to me with a quote. the number was crazy. i'm with farmers, the price for the year is $2900!!! for full coverage (required when financing)
there has got to be a cheaper alternative, that price is ridiculous!
anyone know a cheaper alternative?
what does everyone pay for a busa?

have you had full coverage on a bike before? That's similar to what I was quoted for a new gsx-r750 (didn't end up buying one) through Geico. How many years experience do you have?

That's not that bad on a Busa for full coverage. They play the odds. Like Roxtar said how many years do you have on your M endorsement? My buddy was paying fucking $450 a MONTH ($5400/year) for full coverage on a 2005 ZX-10 back in 2010.

I ditched geico for that hoe Flo

Progressive lets you claim both on road AND off road experience when providing you a quote over the phone, so even though i only had 1 year of holding a M class at the time they considered my 20+ years of offroad experience as well.

i have 11 years on my endorsement. driving record is ok, no moving violations. i've had liability on my 1997 gsxr-750, since '04. was only 250 for the year.

i thought a hayabusa was considered a sport touring bike? some people told me to check state farm. gotta do that monday
thanks for the help everyone. i might not be able to get the busa. the insurance for one bike is twice as much as all 3 of my cars. smh

liability on my gs500f is only 200 and i've only been riding for 3 years. plus, I have some significant violations on my record.
going to full coverage on a bike is crazy expensive.

+repped! Mine's never leaving me either. It's been down for a season and a half but it's just waiting for a rebuild, not getting sold!

I've got progressive and I pay $80/yr ( maybe it's 6mo, psure it's a year though ), just got my endorsement a few months back. Then again, I'm not riding a crotch rocket - '97 Honda Shadow ACE 1100.

Please ditch the squid lid and get a full helmet. Mine just kept my face from being ground off like a cheese grater last January.

I`m not even trying to be a dick or anything.

I am -- people like that are the reason Busa's have hugely high insurance rates.

Geico quoted me $440 a month ($5200+ a year) for full coverage on an 07 gsxr 600 back when it was brand new. Called State Farm the same day and was quoted $58 a month for full coverage. The catch was they would not insure the bike alone for that price, I had to switch my car insurance to State Farm as well. My car insurance went up $20 a month with State Farm. I just looked at it as the bike costing me $78 a month for full coverage which I was fine with.

Rider insurance. If you end up going with them, PM me first so I can give you my name and you can list me as the referral. It was way cheaper than everybody else for me.

I didn't read the entire thread, I pay 45 a month full coverage for my 08 1340 through state farm. Local agent, buying insurance through the dealer is just stupid. good luck

Use allstates website, put in all your information and add ALL the discounts. Adjust your coverage to whatever you want then give them a call. they didn't ask for proof of anything when I did mine, got all the discounts and came to about 128 a month cause I'm young.

speed2020 02-18-2020 03:07 PM

Dude, 2900 bucks a year is a great amount and if you cooperate with a reliable insurance company, then I can most likely say that they will cover absolutely all your expenses, except gasoline))
I have experience working with insurance companies, because I myself used to work as insurance agents and in most little-known companies we were ordered to do everything possible and impossible in order to get as much money from the client and pay him as little as possible. This is what most companies do except
generalliabilityinsure.com. That is why they have a huge customer base and excellent reputation!

Mercury1989 07-06-2020 08:46 AM

Most if not all the cars and bikes insurance companies in the US are lowering premiums and even doing refunds. I'm not sure if the classic car insurance companies are doing the same though. I haven't heard anything from mine. I was interested in Money Expert for my hayabusa since they have a great reputation, but their rates were always lower compared to other companies I got quotes from. A few years ago they quoted my '08 with 24K value at over $2000 a year.
