I think it would be one of the better starter bikes out there. I bought a 2005 Ducati Monster S2R for riding along with my 600RR........the Ducati has been an excellent starter bike for my girlfriend. Very easy to shift and nice progressive throttle. Gotta love the Ducati style.

I both agree and disagree...........depends on the individual and how they learn to ride. Do they hop on and recklessly try and stay with experienced riders? Do they take the MSF? Some people handle the throttle responsibly, some don't. Very simple.

If you like it and the bike fits you well then go for it. 99% of the new bikes are top notch in quality. It just comes down to the type of riding, experience, and comfort. We can tell you what to get but just remember, we're not the ones riding YOUR bike.
