VTX1300 Wheel Swap

Ok, so I've got a 2005 vtx1300 and I'm wondering how difficult it would be to swap the wheels for 1800 wheels. The bike is shaft driven and I have no clue how you would change the wheel with shaft drive. Also, I'm currently running a 170 rear tire, which is WAY to narrow for my taste. Would like to be able to get a 240 tire on the bike safely. So i guess my main questions are...

Are 1800 wheels actually wider?

Do you have to uninstall the shaft drive to remove the wheel?

If so, is this something I can do in my garage with hand tools?

What is the largest tire I could run without having an issue with scrubbing?

Hopefully someone knows something about this. Google hasn't been much help lulz
