Mileage on a bike isn't what's important..............proper maintenance and oil changes are the top priorities. And with Honda's, mileage isn't as big a deal anyways. Good luck!

Yeah i know but theres really no way to be sure obout maintenance. I found a 02 CBR600 F4i 4700 miles great cond asking 5500.00 if its in perfect shape is that a fair price? I would try to get him to go cheaper anyway.

I got an 02 f4i in November and I paid about 4800 for it. It was about the same mileage and in pretty good condition. Ive been happy with the bike, no regrets with the f4i at all.

if its a pre-2003 ask if they had the CCT(cam chain tensioner) replaced, it was sort of a recall, i don't think it was ever official but most dealers did it for free under a sort of "good faith" claim, but at like 7k rpm the cam chain would make alot of noise rattling, honda has an updated part or you can get a manual cam chain tensioner from A.P.E., only "issue" of sorts that i can think of about that bike, if its a 01 or 02

It was never a recall; and I've never heard of a shop replacing one for free. It is a known issue though. All the F4's and early F4i's have this problem. It will just freeze in place. I believe even the F3's had bad ones as well.

Go with the manual tensioner; will save headaches in the future. But don't think that anyone selling an F4/i will lower the price if the CCT hasn't been replaced.

I believe he was just saying that it was a known issue and perhaps the Honda dealer he used to work for would replace them for free.
