Default Is this suspect?

I'm about to buy a used bike off someone on craigslist. The guy sent me the Vin # and I searched it up on a few sites and none of them recognize the vin. I asked the seller if he is positive if the # is correct he said yes and that he had the same problem when he bought the bike. Any ideas? Could this be a problem at the DMV or with insurance?

I tried to google this problem, coudn't find anything.

^^^yes a Ninja 650. I have yet to register the bike, will do this week, hopefully nothing goes wrong. Title matches the frame. And I would think Kawasaki would know if it was stolen, at least I hope.

Kawasaki would have NO CLUE if the bike was stolen.

Try this site it's fre and I've never had it not find a VIN.

Just in time for the good weather, congrats! One thing to double check is that the VIN for the bike, the title, the registration, and the insurance all match up or you could run into problems.
