J/K. Just bought a super moto and can't reccomend it enough as a second bike. I don't think it would work as my only bike but its so much damn fun

i'd love one but on the current budget it would be completely impractical... plus theres no where to really ride one around here that i'm aware of, it would suck on a moto-x track and i'd rather have a real road race bike on a big road racing track, if there were actual dirt/tarmac supermoto tracks or go-kart tracks closer i'd be more tempted to get one

what did you get?

the drz version. Its soo much fun that its stupid. While the 6r has the power and is awesome the drz seems to be more of an honest raw experience. Its slow and you have to work it hard but its more rewarding instead of just twisting the wrist and going.

I like it for around town and slower speed stuff. I'm not into the true super moto dirt/street stuff but have taken it out in a few parking lots and housing developments where they haven't built houses yet. I'm still doing the break in but have popped a couple wheelies and its super easy and smooth compared to my 6r. In the wet I haven't been on a better bike. Around town its awesome and I had someone make a left in front of me and had to to an emergency stop. I got on both brakes hard and gave a little too much rear but it slid contrallably until it lifted and I stopped. It was kinda hard to justify overall but the payment(which I don't care much about) and the insurance is stupid low. I quit smoking so I used that $130-140 a month for the bike and insurance. I'll have it paid off in a couple years and will probably pick up a aprilia tard if they actually come to the US as to me that is the perfect bike......60-70hp...v-twin......light weight....real suspension

ah ok the DR-Z, thats better, I thought you meant you got like race track only one, in which case I think they are just a fad with no real purpose until we get some real motard tracks around here... guy at work here has the DR-Z SM and loves it to death, something thats actually streetable and reliable would be an absolute blast i'm sure

believe me I wanted a 450 ktm smc or comething like a crf450 that was converted but with the maintenance on those things....no thanks. With some of the maintenance intervals were less than 1k miles. Thats for major work maintenance too. When/if aprilia comes out with their bike they're really going to set the super moto market on fire
