Default SPORT bikes for big guys

I saw this thread for bikes in general but i am looking for a SPORT bike.

I am 6'4" 260lb. and am thinking about getting a bike for the summer to see how I like riding.

I have NEVER driven a motorcycle besides dirtbikes when I was younger, so Im not looking for anyhting crazy, just something that looks good and handles well. Power is important, but not crucial as I'm a beginner.

Any suggestions?

THANKS!

I think a Ninja 650, SV 650, and any older 600 will do you fine. I heard of guy who rode a 250 and he was like 200lbs+ so I'm sure those bikes will do you fine. My .02

Your height might pose an issue with finding a sportbike that fits you comfortably but your weight is a non-issue. I've known plenty of people bigger than you, and regardless of what anyone tells you, a Hayabusa, GSX-R 1000, ZX10R, R1, etc... they're all totally unnecessary to "make up for your weight" like so many people say. You'd do just as fine on a 600 as anyone else IMHO.

^that's what I was worried about was my height, not neccessarily my weight.

Do bikes come in different sizes? Im completely ignorant to the whole world of bikes.

I would assume a longer bike would be better for me so I dont look like Im riding my little cousins tricycle

yeah your weight does not matter. I ride a 500 and my gf rides on it with me and together we are probably around 325 pounds I would say, I am on chubby side and we have plenty of power.

I'm a big fat guy, got my first bike, it's a hayabusa.. Rode my lil brother's 600 ninja and it's not uncomfortable either.. So either one should be fine.. i Rode a 250 ninja (i think that's what it was) and it wasn't uncomfortable either.. Go w/ your budget..

I'm 6' 2" and I am comfortable on most bikes. Granted, you've got 2" and 60 pounds on me but you'll be fine.
