Question about ruckus and insurance?

Hey guys I was going to call the DMV and ask but the lines wont let me through. Anyone know if you are able to register a ruckus, or any 49cc scooter for that matter, in Virginia so that I can get insurance on it?

Also, does it have to be registered in order to get insurance for it? or is there some other way I can go about it?

Thanks alot

Yes you can insure them, although im not sure if you need to register and tag them or not best bet would be to call the insurance company youre gonna use and find out from them.

Under 49cc doesn't have to be registered and tagged, but if you don't have a motorcycle license you can't take it above 35mph.

edit: I don't think i really answered your question, haha. Sorry, reading owned me that time.

Buy a U lock. You can't cut them with bolt cutters and they're not huge. That's how myself and everyone else i know that rides fixed gears locks theirs up and no problems yet. $20 at walmart.

Progressive will cover it. I just got insurance for mine and they didn't say anything about having to register it.

That would be awesome but I live in an apartment complex with no where to really lock it. Plus my girlfriends scooter was just stolen last month from here. How much did progressive charge you? if you dont mind me asking
