I was wondering what the price of insurance is going to be for me on a 02 GSX-R 600 i am 18 anybody know?

 

full coverage?! most likely freakin' outrageous. i'm almost 25 and liability only for a year is almost 800 bucks. full coverage would've been double for me. just my .02

 

i was quoted 900/year on an 04 r6 @ state farm, they rate by cc's not by bike category

 

that's what they say, but do you really think a 1300cc hayabusa and a 1300 harley would be the same price for insurance (especially for someone younger)?

 

I took the motorcycle safety course and the local NVCC campus and that helped to lower my insurance a lot! I was 20 when I bought my 03’ R6 and I paid about 700/year (NOT full coverage though), I pay just about the same for my 02’ R1 now…

It also depends on which insurance carrier you use and if you already have a plan (i.e. your car) with them already. If you do, they will usually give you a little bit of a break on the bike insurance for being such a loyal customer. Also how clean is your drivers license? They will look and that also. I have 1 point on my license and it raised my insurance about 25-30 bucks!

 

I am 25 with one ticket on my record and my 02 gsxr 600 cost me 1100 dollars a year with progresive and i have my truck insured with them so they gave me a break.

 

thru progressive i pay 354 a year and thats just liability and i own a GSXR750. btw im 19

 

i pay less than $200/yr for liability on a '01 R6 with the 10% MSF discount.

 

thats cheap as shit, i pay $215 / month for a 89 hatch and thats just liability, no tickets, 1 accident thats not my fault

25yo with msf class and its $24 for full coverage with 0 deductible. Honestly asking a whole bunch of people what your insurance is going to be is worthless and a waste of time. Call a few agents to get an idea of how much it will be
