I have a friend that wants to get into cruisers and I've been wanted a sportbike, so we've worked up an even trade for my 05 suzuki boulevard for his 05 r6 raven. Just wondering is there anything I need to know about this particular bike, flaws, good things etc...I'm mainly a Kawasaki guy, but I do like this bike..


Its not about riding experience, i've ridden for 5 years mainly on my cruiser, and have ridden several sport bikes from friends, with no incident to date...

02 Busa (neighbor)
01 GSXR750
97 VFR800 Interceptor

and other misc cruisers...

I just haven't ridden a 600 before, much less a yamaha...I do want a 6, for my own safety for awhile

To the OP - I think you'll enjoy that R6. I ride an R1 so I'm a fan of Yamahas but I've never heard of anyone saying that they didn't like the R6. Especially the way it handles.

ya, mostly gloss black, with some flat black accents and red items...

not mine, but looks exactly like it....

I almost bought an R6 as my first bike, kinda glad I didn't because I know I would have hurt myself on it!

r6's are great bikes, as long as you don't stunt them. No real problems with them that I can think of, and they handle awesome on the street, even in stock form.

 

i'm a daredevel as is, but no stunting for me, I'm in Motorcycle insurance as a claims rep/service agent....I get to here about bikes wrecked all day long and see adjuster pictures, and I can tell sometimes when it was stunted....

I'm excited, never owned a sportbike, and i have heard nothing but good things about this one, so i'm ready to ride....

any groups or clubs around here, that get together when it warms up ?
