well while rolling @ 135mph trying to catch back up with R6 and Mr. 6 my gixxer started havin mad valve tap so i slowed WAY down and then i pulled over the oil light came on, the bike was tappin like there was NO oil and i shut her off
she cooled off to like 120 degrees and i cranked her over, tappin went away for a hot minute but oil light stayed on.... tried to ride but she got hot real quick... .do you think its my oil pump? the head def. aint gettin oil...

did you check the oil level to make sure it wasn't just low?

something could have clogged the oil pickup(doubt it) or most likely the oil pump just died on you

you gave away what made me think it was the oil pump when you said you cut the engine off, let it cool down a few...started it up and the tapping went away temporarily till the engine heated up again. Sounds like your pump is going bad to me. Crank it it up tomorrow or something for the first time, see if you hear any tapping again while the temp is low.

I can't see anything else causing your oil light to come on, yet hearing tap...and having plenty of oil. Your oil light comes on if there isnt enough pressure on suzuki's not just the oil level. So thats my guess...

oil pump gears..... in process of ordering service manual on CD, gears, and new oil pump, as well as new oem clutch, o-rings, and gaskets. even with a job, im still broke.
