Default New bike, some questions

Hey guys i just bought an 01 R6, its my first bike and i have some questions and hopefully you guys have answers.

1. when i go to shift at at higher speeds i have to wait to for the RPMs
to drop before it will go into gear...is this normal??

2. the throttle sticks a lil, how do i fix this?

clutch sound like it is not adjusted rite and the throtle could be need cable lube or sometimes the the grip will move too fare over and hits the housing. I would have to look at it to tell

no, i just have to wait for a second after i let off the throttle to put it in gear

id diff check out the clutch... emc, can give u a hand if u cant handle it...


if it was my bike.. id pull the clutch fibers/plates out and see how bad they are.. re oil them if there still use-able.. do a oil change with new filter..go from there

how young was the PO?.. bike could have been rode hard. clutch wheelies and whatnot

As far as the sticky throttle goes, lube the cable as previously mentioned, and check the cable end at the carbs to make sure nothing is gunked up or binding, and also make sure the butterflies aren't sticking. If there's any garbage in there a shot of carb cleaner might straighten it right up.
