Default Motorcycle Oil

What oil do you guys use or reccomend? There's "motorcycle specific" oils, but can you use auto oil with no damaging effects?

I have a 07 ZZR600, and I've used the Mobil 1 Motorcycle Oil on it previously because I never gave it too much thought, but figured I'd ask to see what's out there.

I'm not really that knowledgeable about...anything really...lol, but I believe you're always supposed to use motorcycle specific oils because it lubricates more than normal motor oil. Motorcycle oil lubricates the engine, clutch, and transmission.

I run Kawasaki 10w40 oil and a factory filter. I ran Silkolene Synthetic in my old bike, but this one is staying with Dino for now. I only have 3700 miles.

Yes, otherwise the oil you use can cause slippage to the wet clutch being car oils have additives and friction modifiers that can cause issues. There really isn't a price difference in motorcycle oil and automobile oils.

Pretty much. I've used Mobil 1 & Royal Purp Full Syn if not Rotella.
