If you haven't taken the MSF Basic Rider Course, go sign up for that immediately. Once you've passed it, if you haven't already, take the little card they give you and go to the DMV to take the written portion of the motorcycle exam. Pass that and you get your M endorsement, without owning a motorcycle. Then you don't have to worry about "when" you get a bike.

You know, i asked the court if i would lose my M class endorsment since i'm on a restricted license and they said no. Now i'm supposed to go and get a license that says restricted on it to go along with my green sheet from the court. My mom called me to let me know that the DMV sent a letter saying they had effectively suspended my license, and that I have to pay $115 and show proof of US citizenship to get it reinstated. Does this mean the court was wrong and i will end up losing my M class endorsment, or was that really just a mistake on DMV's part in your case? Cuz i'ma be pissed if i gotta do it all over again.

+ 1. Plus you get a discount from your insurance company, there's really no excuse not to take the class.
