Default Looking for a good starter bike

My dad has been into the early cruisers and the newer harleys......he owns a 2003 limited edition Dynoglide...and he used to own a rare ass triumph...non usa...

Now..he's talking me into getting a HD but i rather go street bike.....

I would like a good clean looking bike..for a good price...thats NOT going to kill me..

Been looking at the CBR's but there a taaad bit costly seeing as i had hell trying to get a 3k loan for my vehicle.....

Any suggestions for an easy starter..but yet good looking

Yea..but down here a 2000 is roughly 5k for a cbr...ive seen some go for 1,500 but they need work...any "good" places in the state to get bikes.....

Does anyone know of a good dealer......

We have 2 cycle places down here..one is a bunch of kids that ride around on street bikes modded out...and wear nothing but sandles and shorts....plus there fuckin arrogent assholes and if your not in there "club" you pay out the ass....go figure

Than there is Cycle Center..but there mostly off-road etc.....

Just remember 999 times out of 1000, you get what you pay for.

cbr's are nice bikes but more expensive than the other brands for a marginally better bike in some people's opinions. SV650, hawk gt, zx6e, yzf600, or older gsxrs and zx6rs can be had around or a little above $3k

but ive heard if you treat a cbr right..that they hold there value more as well as are more "stable" when it comes to problems

they're almost all just as reliable as the other. There hasn't been a "bad" bike made for years and years now. As for them holding value.....only way you're really going to get the benefit of that is if you buy them new. I wanted a cbr originally but they were going for 1-2k more than the other 600's when used and it just didn't make sense to me
