Jumping the right way??
Whats the proper way to jump my bike? I've found two little ramps in the woods i ride in and when i jump them my front wheel comes up too high and it makes me get on the throttle hard when i land.
What am i doing wrong, and what should i be doing?
Thanks,
Jake

Re: Jumping the right way??
As you approach the jump get your butt off the seat, keep your knees bent
Keep your elbows bent and out to the side, not tucked at your ribs
At the base of the jump shift into the next higher gear..if your approach was in 3rd..grab 4th.
Stand up straight as you leave the apex of the lip...then adjust your body as needed in the air...leaning to the left? Pull up on the left side bar as you push on the right. Same with your feet..lift the low side, push with the high side
Pull in your clutch and keep it running. Assume the same position you started with as you prepare to land...Butt off seat, knees bent, elbows high and out to the side.
As you touch down get back into the throttle. This will absorb a tremendous amount of the energy from the landing and minimize the impact to your body.
Rinse...lather....Repeat as necessary
