honda question
i recently layed my bike down going about 40 and it scratched the whole left side plastic and nose piece...i took it to honda house to get a estimate done on it...it came to 4,020 full plastics and gas tank because of small dent and some handle grips and levers that where scratched up....the thing is my insurance company issued me the check for it but it also has hondas name on its cause im still payin on it...so they have to sign off on it....i want to get all the parts myself....they said once the bike is fixed and honda house inspects it they will sign the check....the thing is i wanna do all carbon fiber body and gas tank....do u think i will have a problem with honda inspectin it

Re: honda question
Insurance will only pay for it to be put back to stock condition.
You can try Ronayers.com for all your stock parts...........knowing what type of bike it is would help me a little bit.

Re: honda question
The CF body work is prolly cheaper than the stock plastics that come from Honda. Like I said, try Ronayers.com for the stock body work.
Honda is gonna make you pay an arm and a leg for it. One side panel for my F4 is 440 from Honda....................it's crazy how much they charge for that stuff.

Re: honda question
You're gonna be shooting yourself in the foot if you're expecting to sell it for a really great (meaning high) price because of all the CF bodywork on it.
Contrary to popular belief bikes sell better when they are as close to stock as possible. Stuff like a Power Commander is cool cause it adds to the bikes performance..............but cf bodywork; you're not gonna be able to sell it for what you put into it.

Re: honda question
absolutely gorgeous bike, nicely done
we fix insurance repairs with non OE parts all the time if the customer wants to save money, but thats like getting a $300 yosh pipe instead of a stock muffler that might cost like $1,500 or more, or a aftermarket $2 clutch lever instead of a $20 suzuki one, changing to CF bodywork might not fly under the radar, i don't know, I worked at Honda House and they are very by the book, run like a corporation or something, the dealer i work at now is a small family owned business that doesn't mind being flexible on stuff like that, so they might not agree to anything but OEM Honda stuff... but if its cheaper i don't see why there would be a problem from the insurance company, i had always contemplated exactly the situation your in, sucks if it wouldn't work
