Default Help me identify this bike!!

I've browsed this website quite a bit but never posted much and need some help. I was just given a project bike for free and am trying to identify what it is. The previous owner got it from his brother, and he from a friend, etc. It's obviously a Yamaha single cylinder, but just can't figure out a model. It has a VIN starting with 3Y6, has drum brakes front and rear, looks to be a street bike almost cruiser-like with a fairly low seat and pull back handlebars. It looks close to the SR500, but the spark plug is on the right side and not the left like the SR500. Anybody have any clues??

Thanks,

I think I may have figured it out...it seems to be the SR250. This was apparently only made in the US for 2 years so there isn't much out there on it. I don't know how I didn't find it earlier. I just typed in the first 3 digits of the VIN and it looks llike that is what it came up with. Should make a cool cafe bike!!
