help for a friend
we were out last night and he hit a turn too hard and washed out. the bike landed upside down (tires in air) but fortunately the only dmg (we can see) is the right fairing being scratched. lights are on and getting clicking. i'm not familiar with carb bikes at all. it's a 96-97 cbr600. didn't know where to start, but we couldn't get it started.
oh and btw he had gear on...not a scratch on him.
thanks for any info...season started crappy for him. everyone be careful, but HAVE FUN!

I think you might need to take out the spark plugs just incase they too got fuel all over them.
But we need more info. Is it trying to turn over at all?

I'd agree about taking out the plugs and cleaning them off, also if it might not start immediatly but if you let it sit overnight it may... there should be drains on the float bowls of the carburators, i'd loosen those bolts and drain out any excess fuel in the carbs, could also have gotten engine oil in the airbox/carbs/plugs... or the tip over switch could be still be engaged if it didn't return to its upright position

Re: help for a friend
i think you got oil in the carbs, since it was upside down.
check the oil, then try starting again. it should smoke out of the exhaust, gotta burn all the oil in the carbs.
also check the plugs too

Re: help for a friend
If it's just clicking and the starter isn't engaging I'd say it's more likely to be electrical than fuel or oil. Check all your connections - even the hidden ones if you need to. The wires on the controls etc. are obviously most exposed and could have gotten jumbled, but a good impact can shake up the stator or something else too. Good luck.
