Got my 1st bike...pics
Kinda long, cliff nots at bottom. Found a good deal in Waldorf, MD. Tell my parents and they been anti- bike since the getco(sp?) and pretty much showed no interest. But there were like its your $ you can do what you want but you can't keep at our house and we won't help you (transport, insurance...etc) I was like w/e. I’m in school at UMD so I get some friends to help me pick it up, cause my car is at home in NOVA and either way I don’t have a truck. I go pick up it and get this I stoor it in my DORM ROOM (had not other place to keep it, lol). You should of seen the faces as I pushed it through the hall, haha classic college moment I wont forget. So now I gotta get the bike from school back to a friends place close to home.
So today, my boy and I are going to put it in his truck. Having a hell of problem doing it, Ive seen a bike strapped down but never done one b4. Took us prolly 2hrs to get it in the back of his truck. Those stupid tie-downs I could not figure out to save my life. I got one to work but the other one wouldn’t. So I was like F it and tied a knot from the bike to the truck. And get this (classic newbishness of me) At frist I tried to put the hook on the wires by the handle bar, I didn’t think thats where they go but couldn’t find another place. So tigtening them down, it snaps something I'm like "uh ooo" lol. So I call the guy who sold it to me, he was like nooooooo you hook the strap around something and then put the hook back on the rope. So I was like ooooooooo, finally got it to work.
Finally, made it back to home in VA. As of now it sits in my friends garrage. Has no plates or anything. I plan on going back to VA to goto the DMV next week to get it reg. and license plate. Unfortunately, wont be riding it till well into May. School dosnt get out till mid may. And as of now I dont even know how to ride, MSF is comming. When I got to my friends place I tried to cut the bike on and couldn’t even figure out how....lmao. O and as of now my parents dont know I have it, I doubt they think I went through w/it.

Congrats on the new bike. It looks nice. Check out EX-500.com for further information on the EX500. It's a good site full of knowledgeable EX500 owners.
Anyways, good luck with it and keep the rubber side down.

Nice, my first sportbike was an '87 EX500...basically the same as yours. I am also rebuilding a '94 in my garage now.
I think you will enjoy it a lot...I still miss mine!

Congrats on the new bike. Great choice imo for a first bike, and I'm glad to see you're taking the proper steps to ride before you just jump on it
