I don't even remember the course. I just remember scraping pegs on the last long turn through cones on the little gl250 and the instructor blowing is whistle...coming over to me, lifting up my visor and saying "Your smiling under therer aren't yah...."
Then he gave me a 100 for the test.

LOL never took the dmv rider test, only the msf class.
but from what i hear the dmv test is hard with a sportbike, so good luck

I took the DMV test, not the MSF course. OP, I believe they're talking about the MSF course which seems probably a bit more lenient because you learn with them for 2-3 days (depending on course you sign up for) and you have some room for error.
DMV you just show up and take the test, so they have no sympathy if you fail bc they dont know you.
